Skeptics on Reddit say hair tests are unreliable. Most of them are right about most hair tests. Here is the honest answer, and why ours is a different thing entirely.
Ask the same question about blood
Everyone treats bloodwork as the gold standard. It isn't.
Dr. Nicole had a client whose thyroid symptoms had fully resolved: mood, hair, energy, nails, weight. A routine recheck came back with a TSH of 85. It should be under 3. The client felt great. The lab reran it and got the same number. A different lab ran twelve thyroid markers, and every one was in range.
Years earlier, the same Lyme panel run twice on the same blood came back "active Lyme" once and "negative" once. The lab couldn't explain it. A retired lab executive later put it plainly: humans handle samples, reagents get mixed, temperatures drift, and errors happen all the time.
If she had trusted one number, that thyroid client could have been put on high doses of medication she never needed.
Labs have no context without a thorough assessment. The assessment is 75% of connecting the dots when it's reviewed by a skilled, experienced practitioner.
Why most hair tests are worth little
A $150 mail-in hair test tells you about deficiencies or toxins, then leaves you on your own. If you can't use the information, what is it worth?
What DNA Precision actually does
DNA Precision uses bioresonance stressor analysis, read by a clinician who has done DNA stressor testing for 15 years. It looks for subtle stress on your DNA (pathogens, toxins, metals) that shows which organs are under strain or starting to become inflamed. It is not ancestry or gene testing.
The point isn't to spew data. It's an investigation: the findings are woven into your history, your assessments and any recent labs you upload from your own doctors, then turned into a clinical, science-driven story of how you got here, and a 90-day plan.
What it can't do
It doesn't replace your doctor's bloodwork. You can bring that bloodwork to us, and we'll help make sense of it, including what it missed. Specialty labs are only included in Private Concierge, where we use labs that are in network with your insurance.
A real case
A 23-year-old woman developed debilitating POTS after surgery to remove a necrotic left ovary, and ended up in a wheelchair. DNA testing pointed to clots in the left renal and ovarian veins (later confirmed by labs) and a dilated left renal vein, which pointed to nutcracker syndrome. No specialist had connected those dots. Read the full Nutcracker case.
